Waxing

Waxing originated in Egypt. In 1150 BC, it was reported that the bodies of women in Ramses III harem were smooth and hairless. It is possible that body waxing was practiced even earlier in Egypt dating back to 3000 BC.

The benefits of waxing over cutting and shaving is that it removes the hair from the follicle resulting in a smoother, shinier finish can last up to 6 weeks.

Waxing at Sephora

At Sephora we use wax from Waxperts®. in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin 2008 Ellen & Trish formulated a wax range originally for sensitive skin to achieve a smooth, pain free and easy wax leaving little or no redness afterwards. This wax is able to be applied thinly so it ‘glides off’ during removal leaving no stick residue. Trish & Ellen also devised a unique waxing technique making waxing easier for therapist and as comfortable and pain free as possible for the client. All our waxing technicians at Sephora are trained using the Waxperts method.

At Sephora we offer both strip wax and peelable wax treatments for all areas of the body. The full list of treatments are:

Strip Wax

Strip wax : is applied by spreading the wax thinly over the skin and in the direction of the hair growth. A cloth or paper strip is applied and pressed firmly, adhering the strip to the wax and the wax to the skin. The strip is the pulled off in the direction of the hair growth. This removed the wax along with the hair.
